  1. Serious lifts. Back squat is getting big. Did you do 1 set at 265? or 5sets? Cleans look strong and deadlifts, still going up there too. Strong lifts.

How is the GOMAD going? How much weight have you gained? Any side effects of that much milk?

  2. Hey you might know this, but are you pressing too? In SS workout B, it is squat, press, power clean? Are deadlifting every session?

  3. Hey Pat,

    1 set of 5 reps.
Error on my part with the DL and not the press. Poor reading ability. Thanks for letting me know. Otherwise I would have thought it was okay and done it again.

Milk is not your friend when you take a Gallon of it.

Clothes feel the same. I will weight myself tomorrow and see if there is a change. Otherwise, besides the milk, eating decently.

  4. Steve,

Looks like good progress on the first week of SS. It is cool to see you progress on the program and how much mass/strength you will gain with the GOMAD.

Will you do the press? Also, GOMAD with whole milk?

  5. Pat,

I will in fact do the press. I just made an error with what WOD B was.

Whole milk of course. Like drinking it straight from the cow.

  6. Gotta echo Pat, solid sets of all lifts. I see 300# sets of 5 BS in your future, Steve.

  7. Pat and Jerry,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have found my new focus and I love it.

After not strength training for so long I am seeing a correction in the size of my left and right quad. I am starting to see the left leg recover. I am hopeful that it will last and allow for some good results.

    Drink Milk Love Life!

  8. Steve,

Good to hear your motivation is high. ME strength days are so important. CFHQ says this in the certs (or at least the programming lectures I have listened to) and I would say at least 25% of the dot com WODs are ME days, but for some reason the vast majority of CFer out there do not do them. We forget and tend to think CF is just couplets, triplets or chippers.

Strength days are my favorite days. I love them. I get a rush from a heavy lift, I do not get a rush from laying on my floor thinking I may have actually gone too far.

Anyway my friend, keep it up. I am glad you have found some motivation and I concur with Jerry 265x5 in the back squat is solid.
